Bratele robotice KINOVA, cu sase sau sapte grade de libertate, sunt ideale pentru aplicatii mobile, cercetare si educatie. Spre deosebire de alte brate robotice, acestea nu sunt insotite de un dulap electric separat, toata partea electronica fiind inglobata in bratul robotic, ceea ce, impreuna cu masa de 4,4 – 7,2 kg (in functie de model), consumul de 20 – 36 W la 24 Vcc si un raport intre sarcina utila si masa bratului de pana la 55% face extremde facila utilizarea acestora pe platforme mobile. In laboratoarele didactice, bratele robotice KINOVA pot fi usor deplasate si montate, in cateva minute, intre zone de lucru unde sunt exemplificate diverse aplicatii. Programarea bratelor robotice KINOVA poate fi realizata in C++, Python, MATLAB si ROS, cu compatibilitate cu simulatoarele Gazebo si MoveIt, accesul la functiile low-level facand posibila cercetarea pentru dezvoltarea de aplicatii in care comportamentul bratului robotic sa fie controlat in functie de detaliile specifice.
